Dr. Peggy Jenkins currently serves as Senior Assistant Dean of Academic Operations at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Dr. Jenkins also has extensive experience in nursing leadership positions at the University of Colorado. She was appointed Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs in July 2020 and successfully graduated over 250 APRNs in 2020 when most clinical placements were shut down due to the Covid pandemic. As Senior Assistant Dean for Academic Programs she worked with and learned undergraduate programs in addition to leading 12 MS programs. Leadership is her nursing specialty and is reflected in her teaching, scholarship and service record of accomplishments.

Dr. Jenkins currently holds certification in Nursing Education from the National League for Nursing. In addition, she  has numerous professional associations, including Sigma Theta Tau International, Western Institute of Nursing (WIN), American Nurses Association, National Organization for Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF), and American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

Dr. Jenkins is  also actively involved in implementing the AACN New Essentials as part of the Steering Committee at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. She has also recently worked with faculty to complete gap analyses of almost 120 courses, modified a gap analysis template from AACN, developed faculty training tools, and organized file structure on TEAMs site. Dr. Jenkins’s passion is strategic thinking and innovation, and assisting in transforming education and developing the ‘next generation’  of diverse and brilliant nurse leaders who promote health equity and inclusiveness.
