“Flexibility and Accountability in Online Higher Education”

Dr. John Sparks currently serves as a full-time faculty and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program Lead at Purdue Global and works as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, seeing 50-60 patients weekly at MHC Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center. Dr. Sparks was raised in Oroville, California and is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. He holds BSN from Northern Arizona University, BS Management Information Systems and BS Entrepreneurship from Eller College of Management, University of Arizona and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from University of Arizona. Outside of work, Dr. Sparks finds enjoyment and relaxation in not only spending time with his family but supporting them in the various activities and adventures.

Dr. Sparks currently holds RN and the dual NP certifications in PMHNP and FNP and belongs to the multiple professional organizations including APNA, Arizona Nursing Association, and American Nursing Association.

In his presentation titled “Flexibility and Accountability in Online Higher Education”, Dr. Sparks will be discussing about a brief reflection and flexibility and accountability in an asynchronous online higher education environment and the impacts they have on student success. As higher education continues to adapt to the everchanging demands of a modern workplace what impact does flexibility have on student success and fidelity to rigorous academic standards.
