The College of Nursing Fall 2023 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 14 2023, at 9:00am in Centennial Hall: 1020 E University Blvd Tucson, AZ 85721.
Congratulations on your achievements in the College of Nursing! We are excited to celebrate your accomplishments with you!
Important reminders:
Guest Tickets: All graduating candidates will receive eight (8) tickets for guests.
- Tucson Students: Tickets are available for pick up now at the Office of Student & Academic Affairs (OSAA) office in the Tucson campus in room 112. Tickets can be picked up Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Gilbert Students: Tickets are available for pick up now at the front-desk on the first floor in the Gilbert campus. Tickets can be picked up Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Important Notes regarding tickets:
- If you would like to request another student or family member pick up your tickets that is completely ok. We just ask you please send an email to con-osaa@arizona.edu letting us know who you are authorizing to pick up your tickets.
- Any tickets not picked up prior to Commencement will be available at Will-Call the day of the ceremony.
- For any students inquiring about extra tickets beyond the 8 tickets everyone is guaranteed, we ask that you please first reach out to other students in your cohort who will not be needing all their tickets. If you still require additional tickets, we will have extra at the Will-Call table the morning of the ceremony. These are given on a first come basis. The Will-Call table will be available at 8:00 am (an hour before the ceremony begins) and will be located in front of Centennial Hall.
- Any small children that can sit on someone’s lap do not need a ticket.
Official Address: Reminder for all students to please confirm that your mailing address in UAccess is accurate to ensure you receive your diploma on time.
Name Updates: The name on your diploma will be the same as shown in UAccess. If you need to update your name in UAccess, please contact the Office of the Registrar or find more information here: Updating Personal Information | Office of the Registrar (arizona.edu)
Free Parking: Free parking will be available in the Tyndall Avenue Garage until 12:00 pm. The parking garage address is 880 E 4th Street, Tucson. Centennial Hall is a short walk from the garage.
Event Timing: All graduating candidates will meet backstage at 8:00 am. Students will enter through the East Stage Door facing the adjacent parking lot. Please allow time to park, walk to the venue and complete bag-check. Once inside, find your nursing program’s table and check in. Next please head backstage and find where your program will line up. If you are notified at check-in that you will be receiving an award you must line up in the line for Awardees. Please note, the order in which you need to line up will be on the bottom of your name card. Promptly at 8:50 am, students will be directed by volunteers to form a processional into Centennial Hall. Please ensure you arrive on time as the ceremony will begin right at 9:00 am. Please note, CON staff will be there to assist you if you have any questions at any point.
Bag Requirements, Students: There will be a security check point which will include passing through a metal detector, to enter the venue. Students are encouraged not to bring bags of any sort. All bags will be searched, and UA Faculty and staff are not permitted to hold student belongings (phones, purses, bags, flowers, cards, etc.) during the ceremony.
Important Note for Graduates: You will be provided with a card during check-in that will have your information on it. Please hold on to this card throughout the ceremony and provide it to the faculty member who will be presenting your cohort when you walk up the stage for them to read your name. Children, friends, and family members are not permitted to accompany students on stage. Theatrics, such as cartwheels and flips, are not permitted.
Bag Requirements and Security Policy, Guests: All guests are required to enter Centennial through the main entrance. For the latest information on what type of bags guests can bring and Centennial’s security policy, please visit Centennial Hall – Security Policy (centhall.org). Please share with all your guests, that they will be passing through a metal detector and will not be allowed to bring into the venue any signs, posters, banners, and balloons. Also, anyone found with a noisemaker or horn may be asked to leave. (Balloons must be left outside Centennial Hall).

Covid / Face Covering Guidance: Based on current public health conditions aligned with CDC guidance, masks are recommended, but not required.
