The University of Arizona College of Nursing is proud to announce that two of our Nurse Anesthesiology faculty, Drs. Kristie Hoch, and James Richard Reed, have been selected as candidates for induction as 2023 Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.

UArizona Nursing is proud to acknowledge the extraordinary achievement of Dr. Elise Erickson, and her colleagues, for receiving a $2.9M R01 award from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Although she does not hold a degree from UArizona Nursing, Karen Kennedy-Evans, RN, has been so entwined with the College that in 2018 she was awarded UArizona Nursing’s Honorary Alumna Award for outstanding achievement and contributions to their professions, their communities, and the University of Arizona.

UArizona Nursing is thrilled to announce that two faculty members, Timothy Sowicz, PhD, RN, and Tarnia Newton, DNP, FNP-C, are the winners of $25,000 prizes for their submissions to the National Institute on Drug Abuse “Substance Use Prevention Services in Primary Care” Challenge.

The University of Arizona College of Nursing is pleased to announce that Peggy Jenkins, Ph.D., RN, CNE, has accepted the offer to serve as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, effective September 5th.

This RII Challenge Grant Project will build on the work the ANCATS team to identify student sociocultural strengths and impediments to academic success that will be useful in crafting personalized plans to build resilience across undergraduate students at the University.

UArizona Nursing is proud to acknowledge the achievements of Dr. Ruth Taylor-Piliae, professor, and her colleagues, who recently received a $20,000 award  from The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) Foundation to address type 2 diabetes using an integrative intervention.

UArizona Nursing is proud to acknowledge the achievements of Drs. Allen Prettyman, clinical professor and Lindsay Bouchard, associate clinical professor, who recently received a $2.6 M four-year Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant.

In June, the UArizona Nursing's Nurse Anesthesiology Program was one of only 128 programs across the country to receive a multi-year Nurse Anesthetist Traineeship. The grant comes thanks to the tireless efforts of Program Administrator Dr. Kristie Hoch.
