CONNECT WITH US!

Whether you are exploring a nursing career, deciding which program is right for you, preparing to apply, or considering an advanced nursing degree, the U of A College of Nursing offers several ways to connect with us. Attend an information session, meet with an admissions advisor, or tour our Tucson or Gilbert facilities to learn more about our programs, admissions requirements, and learning environments.

Information Sessions

Information sessions help prospective students learn about our nursing programs, understand admissions requirements, and choose the educational pathway that best fits their goals. Select the session below that best matches your interests and educational background.

Pre-Licensure Nursing

These sessions cover the College of Nursing's pre-licensure programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science – Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MEPN). Both programs are offered in Tucson and Gilbert. They are intended for students exploring nursing options who have not yet completed, or are currently completing, prerequisite coursework for the BSN or MEPN programs.

Bachelor's Degree

Learn about the Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Direct Admit (BSN-DA) pathways, including the BSN Integrative Health (BSN-IH) Gilbert pathway. These sessions explain what it means to select the Nursing BSN-DA at the U of A and are intended for first-year and transfer students interested in the College of Nursing.

Master's Degree

Learn about the Master of Science – Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MEPN) program, offered at both the Tucson and Gilbert campuses. These sessions cover admissions requirements and are intended for students with a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing major who are interested in the College of Nursing.

Graduate-Level Nursing

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and PhD programs are for applicants with either a BSN or an MSN in nursing. Some specialties are available only to master’s-prepared nurses. See the main program page for details. Students in these programs must apply to the U of A Graduate College before being admitted to the College of Nursing.

PhD in Nursing

Interested in becoming a nursing researcher or teaching at the college level? Because each student's area of study is unique, the PhD program does not offer information sessions. Students are required to either complete an interest form or contact the program director to learn more about the program. See this page for details.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Interested in advancing your nursing practice? Join a virtual information session to learn more about the DNP program, explore what sets it apart, review specialty options, and ask questions about admissions. Sessions are held monthly on Zoom. Registration is required.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled DNP information session, complete the Request Information form on the relevant DNP program page to receive program details by email.

Admissions Advising

Admissions advisors are available to meet with prospective and current students to help them navigate the competitive BSN and MEPN application process. Advisors can discuss application criteria, requirements, and deadlines.

Individual Advising Appointments

  • Appointments last 20 minutes. To schedule an appointment, visit the Admissions Advisors' calendar.
  • To prepare for your appointment, students who have already earned college credit should:
  1. Download all your unofficial transcripts.
  2. Review the U of A's Transfer Credit Guide to preview how your coursework may apply to the nursing programs.

Drop-In Admissions Advising

Drop-in advising is available virtually via Zoom for quick questions. All students, regardless of major, and prospective students are welcome.

  • View availability and access the Zoom link through the advising Trellis Calendar.
  • During drop-in hours, enter the Zoom Advising Room. You will be placed in a waiting room in the order you join until an advisor brings you into a private advising session. Please ensure your Zoom audio and video are configured correctly before the session.

New DNP and PhD students can contact Layla Salazar, Enrollment Coordinator, Doctoral Programs for program and admissions questions. Email: CON-OSAA@arizona.edu | Phone: 520-621-1860
