The University of Arizona College of Nursing proudly hosted its January 2026 Campus Clinical Immersion (CCI) January 14–16, during the first week of the Spring 2026 semester, welcoming approximately 126 Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students.
CCIs are designed to strengthen specialty-specific clinical skills through hands-on, faculty-led workshops. Faculty from all DNP specialties (except Anesthesiology) guided students through intensive, practice-focused learning experiences that emphasized skill development, collaboration, and clinical confidence, preparing them to transition seamlessly into their clinical placements.
At the conclusion of the immersion, DNP students preparing to enter the clinical phase of their education participated in a White Coat Ceremony. This critical symbolic milestone marks the transition from classroom learning to hands-on clinical practice. It signifies a commitment to professionalism, scientific proficiency, compassion, ethical care, and leadership as future advanced practice nurses and essential members of the health care team.
A total of 126 DNP students received their white coats in the following specialties:
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP - 28
Family NP - 50
Nurse Anesthesiology NP - 7
Nurse Midwifery NP - 4
Pediatric NP - 7
Psychiatric Mental Health NP - 30
